RUNNING IS SO RAD RIGHT NOW

Let’s just say it.

Running is so rad right now.

Something shifted. Brands stopped playing it safe. Runners stopped being treated like spreadsheet segments. The walls came down and the weird ideas started getting through.

And it shows.

Shoes are getting wild. Foam stacks getting higher. Plates getting stranger. Gravel shoes. Super trainers. Cushioned monsters that bounce like a trampoline. Lightweight racers that feel illegal. Brands are pushing each other and you can feel it in every new release hitting the wall.

Competition is healthy. It makes everyone better.

You can see it in the gear. In the apparel. In the storytelling. No one wants to be the quiet brand in the corner anymore. They are taking risks. New colors. New materials. New silhouettes. Some hit. Some miss. That is the point.

THE SPORT FEELS ALIVE

But none of this came out of nowhere.

The runners before us paved the way. The ones grinding out miles before fashion met function. Bricked shoes. Cotton shirts. Heavy trainers. Gear that felt like it was built out of concrete. They did the miles anyway. Long before foam stacks and super shoes and breathable fabrics.

They built the culture we are running in now.

Millennials. Gen Z. Boomers. Every generation showing up in their own way. Different music. Different style. Different reasons to run. But all part of the same strange tribe.

THAT TRIBE PART MATTERS

People meeting before sunrise for miles in the cold. Long runs that turn into coffee. Track nights that turn into friendships. Shoes that somehow become part of your identity. A pair that carried you through a marathon. A pair that survived a winter. A pair that just feels right.

And the brands that understand that are the ones winning right now. They show up to the runs. They sponsor the weird events. They build shoes for actual runners. They listen. They experiment. They stop pretending the sport is clean and perfect.

Running has always had a little grit to it.

Is all of it authentic? No. Everyone is an influencer now. Brands have infiltrated every corner of the culture. Some of it is pure marketing dressed up as community. You can feel the difference between a brand that runs with you and one that just showed up for the content. Runners are not stupid. They know.

But the signal is still louder than the noise. And the sport feels alive.

How alive? Less than one percent of NYC Marathon lottery applicants got in this year. One percent. The 9+1 path that used to be the reliable backup? Good luck. And your local coffee shop is hosting a run club now. That is how deep this thing goes.

That is where Brooklyn Running Co comes in. We see it every day. People walking through the door after a bad run. After a great run. After their first mile. After their tenth marathon. The wall is full of shoes but the real thing happening in here is community.

Running is not a trend. It never was.

But right now it feels louder. Brighter. More creative. The brands are swinging. The runners are showing up. The tribe keeps growing.

And honestly

IT’S SO RAD.
