We see you.
We see you out there in the rain, the humidity, the early mornings and the late nights.
We see you stopping into Willyb BRC to fuel up in the middle of a long run. Running to Park Slope BRC to use our bathroom. Becoming emotionally attached to your race-day shoes. Planning your race-day outfit three weeks in advance.
We see you canceling plans to join another run group. Dodging the crowds in Domino Park after work. Getting your hill repeats in at Prospect Park before work.
We see you putting everything you've got into this thing you love.
And soon, you'll be standing on the start line in Staten Island.
You'll be excited. You'll be nervous. You'll probably have a moment where you wonder what the hell you're doing.
But you'll be ready.
Because we've seen you put in the work.
We've seen the miles. We've seen the commitment. We've seen you keep going when it wasn't easy.
Now, you just need to run.
Then you'll cross the Verrazzano Bridge.
And Brooklyn will show up.
And Brooklyn is going to be LOUD.
Soak it in.
High-five strangers. Find your people. Let the crowds carry you. Trust your training. And when it gets hard, remember every mile that got you here.
26.2 is a long way.
But you didn't get here by accident.
You earned your way to that starting line.
Now go see what you're capable of.
We'll be waiting for you at the finish line.
